Religious “Freedom”?

Religious “Freedom”?

I object to the demands made by religions.

“Believe as directed or face eternal damnation!” etc.

“God’s word” comes to us through an interpreter who claims to espouse the “only true” interpretation.

I would favor a “free-enterprise” competition by these interpreters whereby they must sell their view—to be accepted or rejected by the “consumer” on the merit of the message as seen by the buyer.

Come to think of it, however, I guess that pretty much happens . . . hence the different beliefs and religious groups.

However, I nevertheless reject the “dictatorial” doctrine of “believe or be damned.”
